September empties (15 items) !Updated!

Hey everyone,

I have been lagging behind with posts due to a law exam, which thankfully I passed, however I am now faced with a new dilemma. I just did another massive declutter of my makeup collection, including some of the items from my project pan that clearly expired, even though I have yet to get through even half of my previous declutter here on my blog. Not sure how to tackle this, so let me know if you have any ideas.

Empties:

MAC Fix + (£18.00): Fix + is a staple in many beauty addicts collections and I can’t disagree with the pros expressed by so many in the beauty community. It’s such a classic product and I am sad that I ran out of it. I have tried alternatives to intensify the pigment of certain shadows but nothing works quite like this. I will definitely be picking up another bottle soon.

Benefit cosmetics Roller Lash mascara (£20.50): This is a favourite mascara of mine and I am so sad that I have to go and repurchase this one. It is strange that I really didn’t like this product in the beginning but now I can’t imagine my collection without it.

AVON nature Apple Blossom shower gel (99p): This is the last bottle of this shower gel that I had and it has been discontinued, therefore I cannot repurchase it.

No7 Quick Thinking Wipes (£2.00): These are my favourite makeup wipes and any time I have a money off voucher I always repurchase these. They are gentle on the skin, remove all traces of makeup and I highly recommend them.

Avene Thermal Spring Water 150ml (£10.00): I got this originally to help with my eczema but it did nothing and I just ended up using it to cool down during the summer. Therefore, I see no point in purchasing this expensive water again.

Sephora Lotus face mask (£4.81): I picked this up during my trip to Rome, I picked up two other types to try out as well, and I did enjoy this one. However, I found the green tea version to be more effective at achieving what it said on the packet. Even though I have dry skin I did prefer the green tea one (for mattifying), I just expected for my skin to feel more hydrated than it did after using this one. Therefore, I wouldn’t pick this up again.

Rimmel London Volume Colourist mascara (FREE): This was a good mascara and I do feel that it did tint my lashes a little. However, it was a little too scratchy against my upper lash line to justify repurchasing it. It may seem very picky but there are other mascaras I like that don’t have an uncomfortable application.

Nivea Invisible for black & white antiperspirant (£1.29): I only got this to take with me travelling but I didn’t take it with me in the end because it really didn’t work for me. Deodorants are such a personal preference and I won’t be repurchasing this one.

L.A Girl Pro conceal in porcelain (£4.00): The concealer itself I really enjoy for the under eye area, as the shade gives a very natural look yet it covers all that I want. However the packaging is really annoying, especially when you are getting a bit low. It just becomes really difficult to dispense the product and the brush tip applicator becomes gross after a while. However, I enjoy the concealer and the price enough that I have already purchased another one.

Benefit cosmetics Boi ing brightening concealer no.1 sample (FREE): This shade works really well as an under eye corrector for me. I will definitely be picking up the full size of this as it requires me to use much less concealer afterwards.

AVON Advance Techniques Absolute Perfection conditioner (£3.99): This was just an okay product for me. I don’t have anything bad to say about it but it didn’t wow me either. Therefore, I won’t be picking this up again.

Tesco everyday value cotton wool pads (£1.00): You guys know I only ever use cotton pads that are not from Primark when my Primark ones run out and I can’t get my hands on them any time soon. Therefore, these were for convenience use only.

Biore deep cleansing pore strips Limited Edition (£8.99): These are no where near as good as the charcoal pore strips. The charcoal ones are the only ones from the Biore range that I recommend but I do recommend those ones highly. I will not be purchasing these ones again.

Gillette Venus & Olay 6 razor heads (£20.49): These are the current razors that I use. Not very exciting but these are the best ones I have used so far.

I completely forgot that I updated my decluttering by brand post 1, by adding content mentioning that I was decluttering my Stila mini liquid lipstick in Perla. This was supposed to be included in this post’s totals originally, so I have edited the figures below to include that item now. (1 item and £6.00)

That brings the total number of items to 159 with a retail value of £728.47!

Until the next time,

July Empties (15 items)

Hey everyone,

I am getting later and later with these posts as these months seem to be flying by faster each time. There are so many posts I have wanted to put up recently but I just haven’t gotten round to them yet. The next one that will be going up after this is my Project Pan update #3, as I need to show you guys the starting points for the new products that I said I was adding during the Project Pan update #2 post. I forgot to add the REVLON shadow in ‘Sand’ to my totals during that post, so the 1 item and £2.99 will be added to my final totals in this post.

Decluttered products:

All bar one of the products mentioned in this section were decluttered because they had expired quite a while ago (6 months +), therefore these had to be thrown away to avoid putting harmful bacteria on my skin.

AVON Planet Spa volcanic Iceland warming face mask (£3.99) – This product didn’t do anything for my skin at all, it just got hot. I wouldn’t recommend purchasing this because it just doesn’t do anything for you.

AVON Planet Spa Indulgent spa ritual chocolate face mask (£3.99) – This expired product is marketed as a moisturising face mask. Whilst this did provide a little moisture to the skin it was a very underwhelming product. The only good thing about it was the scent, this really does smell of chocolate and not a fake chocolate scent either. Overall, I would not recommend this.

AVON Planet Spa Caribbean Escape Illuminating body butter (£5.99) – This is supposed to be good for only 12 months and this is at least 3 years old. I just don’t use body butters or lotions. I just hate moisturising my body, I always have. I know I need to but I just hate the process. If you do like body butters though, this is a good one. It gives your skin this shimmer, that’s the illuminating part, it smells really good and it comes really nicely packaged in this jar. I do think this is a good product but I just don’t like using these types of products myself.

Liz Earle Gentle Face Exfoliator (£16.50) – This has a 30 month expiration date which it is probably has 6 months left on. I purchased this because every exfoliator I had used prior to this was far too harsh on my skin. I do agree that it is a gentle exfoliator that does do a good job, but the jojoba beads are what I didn’t like about it. I do like the fact that these aren’t micro-beads but these beads just don’t seem to want to get off my face. I find them everywhere, on my face (even after a deep face wash), on my neck and in my hair! I will not be repurchasing this as I have found cheaper alternatives that I enjoy that are way more hassle free.

Lacoste touch of pink eau de toilette 30ml (£18.00) – When you sniff the bottle of this it smells great but when I actually apply this to my skin it is so strong. I already decluttered the body lotion of this in a previous post because it was even stronger than the perfume. To top it all off this has definitely expired and I will not be repurchasing it.

Empties:

AVON Naturals Coconut and starfruit shower gel (99p) – I loved using this as it has such a light but fresh and tropical scent to it. AVON does so many different scents in its ranges of shower products that I think once you find your favourite ones, you won’t want to purchase from other brands. This one is definitely my favourite one I have tried and I will repurchase this once my collection has diminished a bit more.

NYX Angel Veil primer (£13.00) – This is one of my all time favourite primers. It is in between drugstore and high end pricing but the quality is definitely high end. It makes your skin incredibly smooth, fills in all your pores and keeps your makeup on all day. I will definitely be picking this up again soon.

AVON Naturals winter nourishment vanilla and golden pear shampoo (99p) – This has the perfect warm, fruity, winter scent that lingers on your hair after the wash. I liked to use this every other wash to re hydrate my hair and I will be picking it up again when it re-releases this winter.

No7 Quick Thinking Wipes (£2.00) – These are my favourite makeup remover wipes as most of you know. Therefore, I will continue to repurchase these when ever I have a money off voucher.

TESCO Everyday value 80 cotton wool pads (£1.00) – I always use the ones from Primark but I ran out and didn’t have time to pick any up. I only get other brands when I don’t have those ones so I won’t repurchase these again as a first choice.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream (£13.00) – This was a good everyday moisturiser that hydrated the skin but soaked in quickly, making it easy to apply makeup not long afterwards. However, it has a gel like formula which I don’t particularly enjoy as I have very dry skin. Therefore I will not be repurchasing this product. However, if you have combination/oily skin I would recommend trying this product out.

L’Oreal Preference colour extender (FREE) – This stuff is so good, it really makes your colour look like you only did it a couple days ago. You apply this all over, as you would with hair dye, leave it for 10 minutes and then rinse it all off. I really like that L’Oreal have added this to their hair dye kit for the Preference range, as it makes your colour look better in between treatments.

Liquid blendercleanser sample (FREE) – I got this free from BeautyBay and I am obsessed with how clean this makes my sponges look and feel. After using both the liquid and the solid cleanser from beauty blender, I can conclude that the liquid is better for sponges and the solid is better for brushes. I will definitely be purchasing the full size bottle of this.

L’Oreal Preference high shine conditioner (FREE) – This product has been in many empties posts, and my thoughts are still the same. I love this conditioner. It leaves your hair smooth and silky and it extends the life of your colour.

That concludes my July empties, I hope you guys enjoyed it. This brings the total number of empties to 141 items and a retail value of £589.10.

Until the next time,

Project Pan Update #2

Hey everyone,

This is the second update for my 2017 Project Pan. The products added to the project pan mentioned in this post will have their own post showing the start points and explaining the reasons why I am panning them.

Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in ‘Cricket’:

The Laura Mercier product was in an empties posts so the only product left from this original photo is the Colourpop shadow in ‘Cricket’.

I am having really difficulty using this shadow as during the summer it isn’t really a shade I would use. Therefore, I am going to remove it from my project pan and reintroduce it in the late Autumn/ Winter.

I have decided to replace this with the Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in ‘Glow’. This is a matte cream shade that I personally use to carve under my brows with, because it makes them look cleaner but it is more on the natural side. I find that applying this all over the lid doesn’t work well for me, it just clings to dry patches and almost cracks (even though I moisturise every morning). Therefore, I am looking forward to using this one up. I understand that at $5 this is a very affordable product but I don’t feel that you need to purchase this shade in comparison to all the other beautiful ones Colourpop has. I got this one in the Kathleenlights In the Light quad with my first ever Colourpop order, but I wouldn’t repurchase this shade.

Sleek Contour Kit in ‘Light’ and LA Girl Pro. Conceal Concealer in ‘Porcelain’:

Both of these products are going to remain in my 2017 project pan.

I have done really well on the concealer as evident in the comparison photos above. It is really difficult to tell when I am going to finish this, but it has become more and more difficult to get the product out.

I have decided that I am going to throw out the Sleek Contour Kit in Light once I have hit pan on the contour shade, as it is a very old product. I would repurchase this as I think that it is good quality for the price but I just don’t need it in my collection at the moment. I am hoping to have hit pan on it by the next update in a few months.

MAC Toledo Collection Lipglass in ‘Oxblood’ and Stila Stay all day liquid lipstick in ‘Perla’:

The Maybelline lipstick was in an empties post, so only two products from the original photo remain.

The Stila liquid lipstick mini in the shade ‘Perla’ looks as though no progress has been made but I swear I have used this a lot. I think it is time to give this shade a break for a while and pick it up again in the winter, since it does have more of that mauve edge to it.

The MAC Toledo collection lipglass in ‘Oxblood’ is showing a little progress. I do really enjoy this shade it is just on the older side so this is going to continue to be in my project pan for the remainder of the year.

To replace the Maybelline lipstick and the Stila liquid lipstick I am adding to my project pan the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in ‘Times Square’ and the NYX Matte lipstick in ‘Natural’.

MAC Eyeshadow in ‘Vanilla’ and REVLON Shadowlink in ‘Sand’:

8fb5134d-1862-42a2-9f12-40b90718291d

The orangey Revlon shade was decluttered in my last Project Pan update, leaving the two remaining shadows.

I have decided to declutter the Revlon ‘Sand’ shade as it is very old and I tried to apply it the other day but it has been reduced to slightly coloured glitter.

The MAC eyeshadow in ‘Vanilla’ will remain in my project pan as it is easy to incorporate into looks. I will not repurchase this once finishing it as I don’t see why anyone should spend £10 on a cream single eyeshadow.

I am going to add the MAC eyeshadows in ‘Jest’ and ‘Sweet Lust’ to bring it back up to three powder shadows again.

I am going to do a post very soon with photos of the starting points for the newly added items.

Until the next time,

Eyeliner and Mascara declutter

Hey everyone,

I have been watching lots of declutter videos on YouTube lately, my favourites are those by Jessica Braun as she is so brutal, and since my collection has overflown my storage to the point where it is anxiety provoking I thought it was time. I chose these two categories first because I don’t have an emotional attachment to eyeliners or mascaras so it is easier for me to declutter them.

Eyeliners:

Originally, I had 8 eyeliners in my collection. Which considering I only use black liquid liner regularly seems to be an extreme figure.

Before:

IMG_0463.JPG

Firstly, I went through my liquid liners because these are my favourite type of liner to use. I decided to keep all four of them, and this is why. The Too Faced Sketch Marker eyeliners are my favourites, hands down. The shade in ‘Deep Espresso’ is fairly new and its beautifully rich so that had to stay.

My two black liquid liners: Too Faced Sketch Marker and AVON Glimmerstick liquid eyeliner pen, are both nearly done so I need to keep them until I can replace the sketch marker. Therefore, they will both be going soon and I will only be replacing the Too Faced one. I just prefer the formula and pigmentation of it to the AVON on.

Finally, for liquid liners is the NYX Vivid Brights liner in ‘Vivid Violet’. It has a little brush rather than pen applicator and the colour is stunning. Although I don’t get to wear this often and I do notice that if you apply a thick wing with this, the wing itself can crack a little which is a shame but the regular doesn’t so it doesn’t bother me too much.

Moving on to glimmerstick and kohl kajal form eyeliners. I started with 4 in my collection and decided to only keep 1. I am really happy with the progress I made in this section because I only use these occasionally in my waterline/tightline. I decided to keep the AVON glimmerstick in ‘cosmic brown’, it is so creamy and pigmented and the shade is so rich. I love to put this in the waterline with a bronze smokey eye.

Secondly, I decluttered the AVON glimmerstick brights in ‘boldest black’ because it is really old. However, I always have to have a black liner to put in the waterline. Therefore, I replaced it with the Rimmel Scandaleyes waterproof kohl kajal in ‘001 black’ as I love the formula and pigmentation of these.

The other one I decluttered because it is old is the Rimmel Scandaleyes waterproof kohl kajal in ‘005 nude’. I originally purchased this because of the nude liner in the waterline trend and haven’t worn it in a long time since I don’t really like that look on me anymore.

Finally, I decluttered the AVON glimmerstick in ‘smoky grey’. This one absolutely had to go because it had no pigment at all on the waterline. When swatched on your hand it looks great but this shade is invisible on the waterline. Since that was the reason I got it, which was a long time ago, it was time for it to leave my collection.

After (Left: kept, Right: decluttered):

Mascaras:

Also in this category I am starting with 8 items. Unintentionally I swear. I have a lash primer, full size and mini products in my collection, and I really need to declutter this category because mascaras go bad fast.

Before:

img_0444

I have two of the Benefit They’re Real mascaras, one full size and one sample.I don’t like the way the sample applies. I haven’t with any of these I have used, so it was an easy choice to declutter the sample and keep the full size Benefit gave me.

The other Benefit mascara I own is the Roller Lash. There is no way this is leaving my collection as it is my holy grail mascara. It just gives such amazing length and curl to your lashes, unlike anything else I have tried.

Two of the minis that I have are by Smashbox and these are the photofinish lash primer and full exposure mascara. The mascara really did nothing for my lashes. The brush type is horrible and it can’t be used on the lower lashes unless you want it everywhere. For a high end mascara I expected better, so this is going to be decluttered. Where as the lash primer is staying put as it really separates and lengthens the lashes, you do have to add a mascara on top but the product is white but when you do your lashes look incredible.

Final high end mascara is the Too Faced Better than Sex mini in the limited edition purple shade. This came in the NikkieTutorials collaboration and I love this on my lower lashes with a smokey mauve eye makeup look.

The last two mascaras are both drugstore priced. The one that I am keeping is the Rimmel Volume Colourist mascara. This really does tint your lashes as it claims to and gives your lashes a really long yet natural look. My only comment is that it can be a little scratchy against the lash line. I am decluttering the AVON True Colour Wide Awake mascara because it was too natural looking on my lashes, the wand is quite odd as it is a loose two part spiral shape and the formula is completely non waterproof. Trust me you don’t want to cry whilst wearing this, you end up with black smudges and chunks down your face.

After (Left: kept, Right: decluttered):

These will all be included in my empties total as most of them are old products anyway. This brings the total up to 24 items at a retail price of £103.72.

That is it for this post I hope you guys enjoyed it. I feel a lot better when I look at my eyeliners and mascaras now as I know that these are all products I enjoy using and can rely on.If this post has gotten you in the decluttering mood don’t worry, another more random product declutter post will be going up after this soon.

Be sure to follow my blog, like this post and follow my Instagram at ‘teenbeautylife’.

Until the next time,

September empties part 2 (7 items)

Hey guys, this is part two of my September empties. Sorry that this is so late but I have been super busy lately. I have just changed my background for my photos to a dark blue lace. What do you guys think?

img_3946

NYX HD finishing powder 01 (£8.00) – I really liked this loose powder as it created such a lovely finish on the skin. However this product is quite messy so you really do have to be careful, otherwise when you screw the lid back on it powder will fly out the sides. I won’t be repurchasing this purely because I prefer the pressed version of this powder a little more.

Garnier Moisture Bomb moisturiser day sample (FREE) – This product surprised me a little, I didn’t expect to find it so hydrating. I am going to pick up the full size soon, hopefully this can be a new drugstore favourite.

Bioderma moisturising make-up removing micelle solution (£10.00) – Bioderma is my favourite micellar water that I have tried for sure. Although, I don’t see a massive difference between this and the regular Bioderma. Plus this does still have a fragrance to it so it isn’t perfect for super sensitive skin. Once I have used up the other bottle of this I have, I will be returning to the original Bioderma so as I can do a comparison of the two. This is a great product tho and if you haven’t tried Bioderma yet, I strongly recommend that you do.

Maybelline Brow drama sculpting brow mascara in dark brown (£4.99) – I really enjoyed this brow gel, it is a good colour match for my brows and it stayed on all day. However, the brush shape means that the end of it would sometimes apply product unevenly and to skin around the brows. Therefore, light pressure and  a little precision is required.

Clinique dramatically different moisturizing lotion + 30ml (£10.00) – I did like this moisturiser but for some reason it didn’t really wow me. There is no specific reason behind me not loving this product but for the price of a regular size being £30.00. I’m not going to repurchase it when I have others I prefer.

Benefit Cosmetics Porefessional primer 22ml and 7.5ml sample (£24.50 and FREE) – This is my favourite pore filling and smoothing primer. Since I have mentioned it in so many previous posts I will not be doing another review on it. I will definitely repurchase it soon.

That is it for this my September empties, making the total number of products used up this month 20. The running total for the 2016 empties is 134 items and £569.32!

Post 2: #Raisetheroof series

Hey everyone,

If you haven’t seen post 1 of this series please go and check it out, because it fully explains the thoughts behind this series and what to expect in these posts. In this post I will be mentioning an affordable dupe for some high end lip products, some current makeup shopping saving opportunities and a Benefit Cosmetics Brow Party I attended.

Gifts:

My mum bought me two lip products recently when we were at the pharmacy, from the brand Rimmel London. The first item is from the Lasting Finish by Kate 15 year collection in the shade 55 My Nude. This lipstick is just the perfect every day nude shade for me and the rose gold packaging is so beautiful. Although, I must be honest I still don’t like the scent of Rimmel lipsticks. Why am I mentioning this product in this series? Well, this collection is currently £6.49 each at Boots which is very affordable for a lip product and some Rimmel London products are also buy 1 get a 2nd half price. So click here to view the collection.

As I don’t usually purchase items from Rimmel London, the reason I became so interested in these lipsticks originally was that my pharmacy was selling these for £4.49! I don’t know if other peoples local pharmacies do this but I have noticed that at the Rimmel stand there will usually be products in the centre with money off stickers on them. The products aren’t old or damaged either. So since my mum bought me this product I saved £4.49.

The second item that my mum purchased for me was the Exaggerate lip liner in 063 Eastend Snob; which saved me £3.99. I really like this lip liner because it is creamy, pigmented and doesn’t drag on my lips which is important for me. My original interest in this product stems from the fact that it is an affordable dupe for multiple highend lip products. After doing some research I found out that it is a highly well known dupe for Charlotte Tilbury lip liner in Pillow Talk. With a £12.01 difference in price it certainly makes you think twice before purchasing the highend product. This lip liner is also supposed to be a dupe for a few MAC products such as Pink Plaid lipstick but I couldn’t find that much information on it honestly. However, if you are interested in the Rimmel product I have insert a link here and it is also in the selected offer mentioned earlier. I have also put in a link here to view someone else’s picture to show you guys the comparison between Pillow Talk and Eastend Snob.

Saving opportunity:

The offer on O2 priority this time is ‘Pick up a Free ‘7th Heaven’ facial mud masque sachet’ from Boots. This offer saves you £1.00. So if this is a brand of mask that you usually purchase, go ahead and use the offer on the app whilst it is available.

Benefit Cosmetics Brow Party (Marie Claire Reader Event):

On 4th August I attended the event on the Good Ship Benefit, which is docked near Embankment station on the Thames river. It was £10 a ticket for which both myself and my best friend purchased online through Eventbrite. The event ran from 6:30-8:30pm and you got a lot of opportunities for your money. Firstly there were four hairstylists from GHD that would style your hair for FREE and you could enter a contest to win a pair of platinum straighteners, there were people from Nails Inc doing peoples nails for free, you could get your brows done for free by Benefit employees, you got a free glass of bubbly, there were brow master classes and you got 10% off all Benefit products that night. At the end you also got a goody bag with a £10 voucher for Nails Inc services, a Marie Claire September issue and a full size they’re real mascara! Safe to say it was definitely worth the money. With the 10% off discount I purchased the Roller Lash mascara at £17.55 rather than £19.50; which saved me £1.95.

If any of you guys hear about these events in the future please go to them, you will not regret it.

Running total for property deposit: £574.00.

May empties (12)

Its that time again. I know everyone is saying this at the moment but I cannot believe that it is already June. I cannot wait to post my 18th Birthday haul this month (I have a feeling it is going to be a big one). If you guys have any recommendations for products you want me to haul, drugstore or highend, please let me know in the comments.

This month I finished 12 products including make up and skincare. Starting this month I am going to be telling you guys how much these empties cost and how much the total items and price for the year is. This month reached a total of £83.11! For the year so far up to the end of May, I have used up 61 products which came to a total of £294.82!

IMG_2903

Hits:

AVON Ideal flawless cream concealer in fair (£4.00): As you can see I scraped every last bit out of this pot. This is the fullest coverage concealer I have tried out and it stays in place all day. I have even gotten my friend to fall in love with it and she is now on her second pot. I will say that if you have dry under eyes like me, make sure you hydrate the area first before applying because it can cling to dry patches.

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin tonic 200ml (FREE): I know what you are thinking, “how the hell did you get that for free?”. Well last year at the Liz Earle counter in Boots, they did an offer where if you purchased two items you received a full size skin tonic for free. Naturally I took full advantage. This feels so good when applied to the skin as it is refreshing and soothing. The scent is amazing as well as this product has cucumber and floral scents to it. If you are hunting for a new toner I seriously recommend that you check this one out.

Biore charcoal pore strips (£9.49): I will definitely be repurchasing these. This pulled everything out of my pores and whilst the strip looked disgusting afterwards there is something oddly satisfying about it. I even used one on my boyfriend to see if there was a variation in the results…I can’t unsee what I saw on that strip. Long story short you need these in your life if you are prone to blackheads on your nose.

Makeup Forever HD foundation in N110 (£29.00): Until recently I wasn’t fond of this foundation at all, it just didn’t apply the way that I wanted it to and it didn’t help that this shade was too pink toned for me. However, I recently started applying it with a sponge instead and have been patting into the skin as I found out that that is how it was designed to be applied (I found that out on YouTube). Ever since then my opinion of this foundation has changed massively. I am going to purchase the Ultra HD stick version in a more neutral/yellow toned shade to see which I prefer.

Maybelline Babylips in Hydrate (£2.99): I love the Babylips range in general because it has regular lip balms, tinted ones and very pigmented electric colours as well. This is the last Babylips in my collection and as mentioned before on my blog, I love these products and I will repurchase when I need a new lip balm. Personally, my favourite one I have discovered so far is the intense care version because it has provided the most hydration.

The Middle ground:

PS…love this 100 oval pads (90p): This is only in this section because lets be honest cotton pads aren’t very exciting. I like these ones because they are cheap and pads themselves are quite large which allows me to take off more product with each one.

Vichy Normaderm cleansing gel (£11.00): I know I have talked about this product before but this is in the middle ground section now because my skin needs have changed. Recently, my skin has been dry combination and this product just dries my skin out too much if I use it on a regular basis. If you have oily blemish prone skin I recommend you have a look at Vichy because this product absorbs my oils really well.

Real Techniques deep cleansing gel (£6.99): I purchased this because I really wanted to take care of my Real Techniques brushes that I own and I had trouble getting all of the product out of them. This did an okay job but it didn’t clean them deeply enough. Do you guys have any recommendations for good brush cleaning products??

REVLON lip butter in Juicy papaya (£7.99): I have reviewed a REVLON lip butter before on my blog and I have come to the same conclusion again. I really like the formula of this product as it has nice pigmentation and is hydrating on the lips. However, I will not be repurchasing one again purely because none of the colour range suit me.

Lancome Hydra Zen moisturising cream sample (FREE): I received this sample when I purchased the Lancome Teint Idole ultra 24H foundation. This is a really nice basic moisturiser with an amazing scent but at £39.50 I am currently conflicted as to whether purchasing the full size is a good idea or not. Thoughts??

Misses:

Simple spotless skin cleansing wipes (£4.25): I stopped purchasing Simple products because they broke me out and did nothing for my skin. However, my mum purchased these for me so I used up the packet in order to give them a fair shot. My mind is now resolved on this brand and I will never purchase another product from Simple again. This didn’t help with my blemishes, if anything it maintained them. The wipes were also pretty dry so it was quite difficult to get my make up off with them.

AVON 8-in-1 eye palette in not so neutral (£6.50): This was the product for my pan that palette tag on Instagram. The last update I did before this I mentioned that I was just going to hit pan on the brown shade and then toss it. This was a miss for me because 3 of the shades were quite strange, 3 were unpigmented and 2 I really liked. The 3 that were unpigmented were the 3 shades not panned left in the palette. The black turned out grey, strangely enough so did the purple and the bronze needed a lot of packing on the lid. The 2 I really liked were the brow bone shade and the brown I hit pan on because they were pigmented and really easy to blend. Overall, you just couldn’t make a complete look only using the shadows in the palette which is unappealing in itself.
