August empties (9 items)

Hey everyone,

I recently got back from a week long trip to Rome and I finished quite a few items whilst I was there. I posted photos of these and reviews on my Instagram: Charles Worthington Strength and repair shampoo and conditioner, Neutrogena make-up remover wipes, Tarte brighter days highlighting moisturiser, MAC Natural Radiance primer in yellow (sample), Benefit Porefessional primer (sample) and AVON moisturising sun lotion SPF 50. This brought my empties up to 135 items at £560.64. For more information please see my Instagram: @teenbeautylife

Garnier Micellar Cleansing water 700ml £7.99 – I got this super large size bottle when it was on sale and it has lasted me a long time. This isn’t my favourite product but I will probably repurchase it from an affordability perspective.

Lush Jackie Oates colour supplement £10.49 – This is being binned as it has expired. This product can either be used on its own or, the way I preferred to use it, mixed with moisturiser to make your own tinted moisturiser. It didn’t last well on the skin through out the day and your face just smells of oats. I will not be repurchasing this.

Beauty Blender solid cleanser £14.00 – This is the best brush cleaner I have ever used and I have already repurchased it. It leaves your brushes looking new again and it makes the cleaning process super quick.

Beauty Blender £16.00 – This product applies base makeup flawlessly and I will always repurchase it. This one was the light pink shade, which I will not repurchase as it lost all its colour within the first few washes and didn’t last as long as the original dark pink one. Currently I am using the white and pink marble beauty blender that was launched recently, and I am really enjoying it.

Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre £13.00 – This is a super thick cream moisturiser that is amazing for my dry skin. Therefore, I am going to purchase the big size of it when I am next at Boots.

Sephora Green Tea face mask FREE – My best friend bought this for me when she went on her trip across Europe and I really enjoyed it. The sheet fits the face well and doesn’t move around once in place. There is plenty of serum in the sachet and it leaves the skin mattified without feeling stripped. I purchased another one of these when I went to Rome recently.

Benefit Air Patrol BB cream eyelid primer sample FREE – I am definitely going to purchase the full size of this product. It cancelled out all discolouration on my eyelids, keep my shadow on all day and my shadows didn’t crease either. The applicator on the full size means you can apply it directly to your lids as well as being gentle on the skin. If you are looking for a new lid primer, especially one that has colour to it, I highly recommend air patrol by Benefit.

Benefit Firm it up! eye serum sample FREE – This tightened the under eye area, not in an uncomfortable way, and hydrated them which made concealer application easier. If you are looking for an eye serum I would definitely check this one out; ask for a sample at the counter.

Tarte Rainforest of the sea marine boosting mist 30ml £4.29 – This didn’t do much of anything for my skin and therefore I will not be purchasing the full size. You apply this product before your moisturiser and it is supposed to increase your skin’s hydration. However, I saw no difference to before it was included in my routine.

This brings the empties total to 144 items and £626.41!

Until the next time,

Lauren x

August empties part 2 (12 items)

Hey guys,

Part 1 of this month’s empties brought me over 1oo empties. My next project pan goal is to reach 150 empties.

Also, I start my full time apprenticeship tomorrow so I don’t know when certain posts will be coming out. I was thinking maybe doing two months worth of products at once, like a October & November empties post. Let me know in the comments whether you would like that or whether you prefer these posts monthly.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge (£5.99) – This had to go because I could no longer get all the dirt out of it and the sponge’s pores became very large. Saying that I have repurchased it as I prefer to use this sponge under my eyes rather than my beauty blender because of the flat oval edge.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick sample in Red Carpet Red (FREE) – This is the final Charlotte Tilbury lipstick sample that I had. As I mentioned before in a empties post, I love this colour and formula. If I didn’t already have so many red lip products I would probably purchase the full size.

Seventeen Falsifeye HD! mascara in blackest black (£6.99) – I really enjoyed this mascara as it both lengthened and separated my lashes. What I mainly look for in a mascara is length rather than volume and this mascara gave me some of the longest lashes I have ever achieved. It is one of my favourite drugstore mascaras and I will repurchase after I have tried out some others that I have in mind.

L’oreal Recital Preference hair dye in refined brown (£6.00) – I have gone back to dying my hair for the winter and this product turns my hair such a lovely cooled toned brown. I have never had a problem with this product so I really recommend it.

AVON Anew lip plumping conditioner (£9.00) – I would apply this to my lips before bed to ensure that when I woke up my lips were nice and hydrated. It filled in the natural lines on my lips which made it great to apply before liquid lipstick since those are typically quite drying products. Next time I need a lip treatment it will be a strong contender.

AVON Care Intensive relief lip treatment (£1.10) – This lip balm was really basic everyday product in terms of being scentless and having basic packaging. However, this was more hydrating than expected. Whilst I won’t repurchase this product it is in my hits because if you like basic scentless lip balms, that are affordable I would recommend this to you to try out.

The middle ground:

AVON Clearskin blackhead clearing daily astringent (£2.50) – I used this as a toner after cleansing (not sure if that is what you are supposed to do but oh well). This is in the middle ground because I cannot say for sure that this cleared my blackheads, but I haven’t had very many during using this product. Therefore, I probably won’t repurchase as I couldn’t see prominent results.

TRESemme Beauty-Full Volume pre-wash conditioner sample x2 (FREE) and TRESemme Beauty-Full Volume shampoo sample x2 (FREE) – I got these four samples from two different magazines, ELLE and Marie Claire. It has the regular TRESemme hair product scent and my hair was in good condition after using it. I liked the concept of a reverse system but truthfully I didn’t experience an increased amount of volume in my hair. I don’t know whether it was because I have really thick hair or not but I won’t be purchasing the full sizes.

KIKO Milano cleansing pure clean make up removing wipes (£1.70) – I have a makeup wipe obsession so I have tried many different brands. I can safely say these are the worst makeup wipes I have ever tried. These burned my eyes and dried them out. It took quite a while to actually take my eye makeup off. I highly DON’T recommend these.

That concludes the August empties making a total of 20 products used in August. Bringing the overall empties total to 114 and the total empties worth to £506.93!

August empties part 1 (8 items)

Hey guys,

This month I finished a lot of different types of products and my collection is looking a bit more manageable for it. However, I still have a long way to go to reach my project pan goals.

Hits:

Dove deeply nourishing body wash 55ml (£1.25) – I got this travel size body wash for my holiday and I loved the thick consistency of the product. It made my dry skin smooth and it didn’t have a particular scent other than that of Dove soap, which depending on your preferences could be taken either way. I will definitely look at the range when I purchase a new body wash.

AVON Colortrend Boost it! waterproof mascara (£2.99) – As I have mentioned before in a previous monthly empties post, I really did enjoy this mascara. It lengthened and separated the lashes nicely but it has been discontinued now.

NYX HD concealer in shade 02 (£5.50) – This is one of my favourite drugstore concealers because of the formula. This shade is the one I would use underneath my eyes because it is has a yellow undertone. I will repurchase this for sure when I need a new concealer.

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick sample in Nude Kate (FREE) – I had a sample of this that was in last months empties as well. I still hold the same opinion as before. I really like the colour and the formula of Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks and I will probably by the full size of this lipstick at some point.

Middle ground:

Far Away Bella Perfumed Body Lotion (£3.60) – I would apply this after having a bath to moisturise my skin. It left my skin smooth and with a floral scent but I won’t be repurchasing because I am not that fond of perfumed body lotions.

Benefit Dream Screen sample (FREE) – It took me quite a while to use this sample up because I rarely wear no makeup and I wanted to test out this product bare faced. I enjoyed the fact that it was oil free and had a high SPF of 45. It also meets its claim to be a silky-matte finish but I won’t be purchasing the full size because it is expensive and I don’t need it. However, if you don’t wear makeup a lot but wear SPF specifically for your face I suggest trying out a sample.

Other:

Listed below are the other empties from this month, that don’t need reviews.

PS…love this 100 oval cosmetic pads – 90p

Johnson’s 200 cotton buds – £1.05

This raises the total of items to 102. Making the total amount £473.65.
