This was yet another attempt to reduce the clutter in my collection, not that it made much of a dent. My last declutter was focused on mascaras and eyeliners, where as this is a group of more random products.
The thing that started this off was decluttering inside my Z palette. My zebra print Z palette contains all my depotted products that I am trying to finish/ get more use out of and my MAC pigments that I pressed myself. Below is a picture of before and after I decluttered and there is a big difference. The only difference between now and the after picture is that I put my two single Revlon shadows from my project pan in there as well.
The only products that I will be counting in my empties items/pricing are the MAC eyeshadows and the Revlon eyeshadow, the rest won’t be. The two MAC eye shadows I am decluttering are “Da Bling” because I never wear that shade of pink on my eyes anymore, and “Retrospeck” as it has a greenish undertone that I can’t pull off. MAC eyeshadows in the pro pan form are £10 each.
The other two random shadows from the palette I am getting rid of are one from House of Colour (the light pink one) as I already have shades like this I prefer; and the Revlon Shadowlink in dark brown (£2.99) as it is super old and doesn’t get used.
The 4 other shadows are all from a Collection eyeshadow palette that retailed for £3.99 total and I depotted the shadows a while ago (that’s why I am not including the 4 in the total). I decided to keep my two favourite shades from the palette and declutter the rest. It was an okay neutral palette but some of the shades weren’t very pigmented and nothing drew me to it.
The final thing I decluttered from my Z palette was the Benefit blush in ‘Coralista’. This shade of blush generally doesn’t suit me and it is very similar to Milani Luminoso. Therefore I didn’t need this as well. All the depotted Benefit cheek products are from a set I got for Christmas, the packaging was just too bulky and I get more use out of it now its in a Z palette.
Lacoste touch of pink body lotion 100ml (FREE) ~ I got this in a set with the perfume and the body lotion is just far too strong for me. It actually smells stronger than the perfume itself. For that reason it was just sitting in my draw, so it was time to declutter that.
Urban Decay Nirvana empty palette (£8.50) ~I only have two urban decay eyeshadows and the packaging on the spine was giving out a bit. Safe the say I wasn’t impressed with the palette. The two eyeshadows that were in the palette I placed into my large black Z palette.
MaxFactor Green CC stick (£9.99) ~ I don’t have time on an everyday basis to colour correct. Since this is only one colour, I will be decluttering it because when I do colour correct I have a kit by Sleek that I love to use instead.
PS…Angled Brow brush (£1.00) ~ This brush just got so gross from being used everyday. The spoolie on the end is now bent and the brush just isn’t up to it anymore. I have two on back up cause I love this brush so much. I use it for my brow pomades and it just applies the product so precisely. The spoolie also means that it is the only brush that I have to use to complete my brows.
- Viva Glam V (£15.50)
- Viva Glam VI (£15.50)
- Fabby (£15.50)
- Sweet and Sour (£15.50)
- Real Redhead (£15.50) (LE)
When I was looking at my MAC lipsticks I decided to go through and check that they all still smelt good and that they didn’t have mould on them. Which seems to be more common in MAC lipsticks for some reason. I have never had this issue until now but the two Viva Glam lipsticks and the Limited edition one did have mould on them near the base. The other two I decluttered because Fabby was really old and I never used it as it had quite a frosty finish. The second one, Sweet and Sour, only had a little product left in it and since I only use it in the summer time there was no point keeping it till then. All of these will go back to MAC at some point (3 already have).
AVON loose pigments in “brown” and “pink” (£3.50 each) ~ The pink shade was far too iridescent for my taste in eye looks and even for highlighting my cheek bones. The packaging doesn’t have a sieve either, it just has a whole in the middle which means you have to tip it into the lid and then try and put the remainder back. Due to this I never use the brown one as it isn’t worth the hassle for a regular brown shade.
Colourpop Super Shock shadow in “Kathleenlights” $5 (£4.01 approx) ~ This shadow I gave to my best friend as the colour really doesn’t suit me. Its a stunning eyeshadow with a smooth formula so I didn’t want to waste it. So I had to pass it along to my friend as I love Colourpop Super Shock shadows so much and I knew she would too.
Colourpop ultra satin lip in ‘Littletitous’ $6 (£4.79 approx) ~ This looks like a beautiful pinky nude in the tube but as it dries on your lips it becomes a brighter, and brighter pink. I got my mum to try it and it happened to her too (not as much as me but similar). The results can be seen below. The picture isn’t that great but you can see that her lips are darker than the tube, it looks as though she lined her lips with a dark pink lip pencil as well (she didn’t, that is the shade getting darker still!).
Benefit dew the hoola mini (FREE) ~ This came in a magazine quite a while ago and I was so excited for it. I don’t like to give super negative reviews but this was terrible. It was completely orange and didn’t last long on the skin. I definitely wouldn’t pay the money for the full size.
Benefit Benetint mini (FREE) ~ I have the full size of this product and I just don’t use it enough to justify having two. Therefore, I thought it best to just declutter the mini of it.
That’s it for this declutter post, I hope you guys enjoyed it. I know I haven’t done a project pan update but to be honest there is only one product I have made visible progress on. I will also not be doing a February, March or April beauty haul as I just don’t have the time at the moment. Those post will be back in May though. Don’t worry about the empties posts though, these will continue as normal.
The empties items are now up to 53. Bringing the retail value up to £175.90!
Until the next time,
